Hair came out in a patch above my ear ten weeks after Gamma Knife. Will it grow back?

Well, I said in the hair thread back in June that I would rather know about thinning in advance than discover it in the shower in October, and here we are, it is October and I discovered it in the shower.
Meningioma treated early August. My tumour sits quite near the surface on the left, and over the last week a patch above my left ear about the size of a jam jar lid has thinned right out. Not bald, but you can see scalp when my hair is wet. Nothing anywhere else. Scalp feels completely normal.
I know it is not important in the grand scheme. But I would like to know whether this is coming back, and roughly when, because I have a wedding in January.
Not important in the grand scheme is still important. Mine was a small thinned patch at the back, deeper target than yours, and it was growing back within a few months. Came in slightly softer at first.
Same tumour type, nothing hair wise for me, but mine was deeper. From what my team said it really does depend on how close the target is to the scalp, because that is where more of the dose passes through the skin.
A friend of mine with a tumour near the surface had the same and wore a scarf for a couple of months. It came back. Mention it at your next appointment though, so they can tell you what they would expect for your dose.
Asked the specialist nurse when she rang about my scan date. She said it is the expected place given where mine is, that it is usually temporary, and that most people see it growing back over the following couple of months, though she would not promise a date. Fine hair already appearing at the edges this week, so January is looking hopeful. Thanks all.
